John Hyden

John William Hyden ( born October 7, 1972 in Pensacola ) is an American professional volleyball and beach volleyball player.

Career Indoor Volleyball

Hyden graduated from San Diego State University and played in the varsity volleyball. In 1995, he debuted in the U.S. national team. A year later, took the outside attackers participated in the Olympic Games in Atlanta; However, the team of the host as a different group from fifth place already in the first round. Four years later, Hyden belonged again to the Olympic volleyball team in the U.S., which again eliminated in the first round at the tournament in Sydney without a win. He also played for clubs in Italy, Brazil and Saudi Arabia.

Career beach volleyball

2001 Hyden began his career in volleyball and played for the first time on the AVP Tour. There he entered into the following years with many former players from the Olympic teams. In 2002, he took with Christian McCaw in Berlin for the first time in an open tournament of the FIVB World Tour part. Hyden / McCaw completed this year another five open tournaments, scoring a best result of two 17th places in Montreal and Espinho. They also met in Marseille and Klagenfurt at the Grand Slams. In the following years Hyden played exclusively in the American national tournaments. In 2009, he formed a duo with Sean Scott. 2011 played Hyden / Scott two open tournaments in Shanghai and Quebec. Since 2013 Hyden occurs with Nicholas Lucena. The new duo completed their first joint Grand Slams in The Hague and Rome. Hyden is married to actress Robin Hyden since June 2001 and the couple have a daughter.
