John Kosmina

Alexander John Kosmina ( born August 17, 1956 in Adelaide ) is an Australian former football player and coach by January 2009 the Australian A-League club Sydney FC. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Football Federation Australia.

Playing career

His career began in 1973 under Kosmina Polonia Adelaide, where he played until 1976. He then moved to West Adelaide and Adelaide City before he signed a contract at Arsenal in London in February 1978. After he came only to one single use in the first team in a year, he returned in May 1979 after Australia. With stations at West Adelaide SC, Sydney City SC, Sydney Olympic, APIA Leichhardt and Sutherland Sharks, he became one of the most goals in the National Soccer League. With Sidney City, he was able to win the championship in 1981 and 1982, In 1982 he was also top scorer. His active career, he ended 1989.

After the active time

After his playing days, he coached the first Manly Warringah Dolphins - before coach of the Newcastle Breakers in 1995. In 1999 he finally moved to the Brisbane Strikers, but again remained as with the Breakers greater success from.

Adelaide United

In 2003 he finally took over the team from Adelaide United and was there in the 2003/04 season reached a third place.
