John Lapli

Sir John Ini Lapli GCMG ( born 1955 ) is an Anglican priest of the Church of the Province of Melanesia and Solomon Islands politician.

Life

Lapli studied at Selwyn College on Guadalcanal. After that he went to New Zealand to become a priest. For this purpose he visited the St. John's Theological Auckland. After he ( priest parish ) in 1986 as a parish priest worked, he worked from 1987 to 1988 as a Bible translator. Lapli now began to engage in political activities and became premier of the province Temotu. This office he held 11 years until his election as Governor General of the Solomon Islands. The Office of the Governor General, he held on 7 July 1999 to 7 July 2004. Lapli was now active in, which was founded in October 2005, founded by Gabriel Suri Solomon Islands Democratic Party. He later broke from Suri as party president.

Lapli has been married since 1985. Of their four children, three sons and one daughter went out.
