John Lund (actor)

John Lund ( born February 6, 1913 in Rochester, New York; † 10 May 1992, Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor. Among his best known films include mainly A Foreign Affair by director Billy Wilder on the side of Marlene Dietrich and High Society, where he played a role alongside Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra.

Work

After Lund was proposed in his work in an advertising agency from a friend for a commercial for the 1939 World's Fair in New York, Lund became interested in theater and film. In 1941 he made his debut in the play " As You Like It" on Broadway. For the Broadway play " New Faces of 1943", he wrote the screenplay. He also worked regularly for the radio.

His first film role was in the film Lund mother's heart on the side of Olivia de Havilland. He obtained with his role in the Billy Wilder film " A Foreign Affair ", in which he starred with Marlene Dietrich The final breakthrough. After the success of this film John Lund received a long-term contract with Paramount Studios. Another major success was the same year the movie " The night has a thousand eyes ." Here he played alongside Edward G. Robinson and Gail Russell one of the leading roles. In the 50s Lund shot a series of successful films, including " High Society ".

In the years 1952-1954 John Lund was primarily working for the radio. He was here a contract with the CBS radio show " Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar ". From 1950 to 1959 Lund was also the Vice President of the actor guild. The mid- 60s Lund returned to acting the back.
