John Mainwaring

John Mainwaring (* 1735, † 1807) was an English theologian and the first biographer of the composer Georg Friedrich Handel (1685-1759 ). His anonymously published in 1760 Handel memoirs are considered first musician biography.

More than half of the biographical part are Handel 's life before 1712 dedicated before he settled down in London. Therefore, it is assumed today that Handel himself, either directly or indirectly, his biographer material from his early life has sent.
