John McVie

John McVie (* November 26, 1945 in Ealing, London ) is a British rock musician who was best known as the bassist of the band Fleetwood Mac.

Biography

In the early 1960s played McVie bass with the Bluesbreakers by John Mayall. In 1967 he founded with Peter Green (guitar) and Mick Fleetwood (drums), both of whom had also played in the Bluesbreakers, the band Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Their music was heavily blues - oriented.

Following the departure greens McVie drew the early 1970s with the remaining band members to Los Angeles. His marriage with the band singer Christine Perfect was divorced in 1977 during the recording of the album Rumours. In 1978 he married Julie Ann Reubens, with whom he has a daughter, Molly McVie.

In 1992 he brought out a solo album, John McVie 's Gotta tape. With the Fleetwood Mac line-up which had taken Rumours, he played on the ball at Bill Clinton's inauguration.

Today, John McVie lives on Oahu, Hawaii. In 1998 he recorded with Fleetwood Mac in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
