John of Artois, Count of Eu

Jean d' Artois, comte d' Eu, (* 1321, † 1387 ), Jean Sans Terre ( German: John Lackland ) called, was from 1350 to 1387 Count of Eu. He was the son of Robert III. d' Artois, Lord of Conches -en- Ouche and Count of Beaumont- le -Roger, and Joan of Valois ( 1304-1363 ).

Because of the betrayal of his father, his paternal inheritance was confiscated. He, his two brothers and his mother were imprisoned at Château -Gaillard. King John II gave him 1350, the county Eu, whose owner, the Constable Raoul II de Brienne had been executed. 1356 he took part in the battle of Maupertuis, where he fell into British captivity.

He married Isabelle de Melun, daughter of John I, Viscount of Melun, and Isabeau d' Antoing; their children were:
