John Part

John Part ( born June 29, 1966 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a Canadian darts player, nicknamed " Darth Maple". He is the only non-Europeans, who won a PDC World Championship titles (2003, 2008).

Career

John Part began with the dart game, after he gave his parents in 1987, a dartboard for Christmas. In his subsequent career part could triumph already in the PDC World Championship and the BDO World Championship. In both tournaments, he was the first player from outside the UK, which was able to record these successes for themselves.

2003 Part defeated Phil Taylor in the PDC World Championship in the final 7-6, 2005, he had to Wayne Mardle in the semifinals of the Las Vegas Desert Classic beaten. The Las Vegas Desert Classic he won in 2006 against Raymond van Barneveld 6-3. On 1 January 2008 Part won 7-2 against Kirk Shepherd in the finals of the Darts World Cup and became world champion. In 2011, he threw at the World Matchplay his first Nine -dart finish. In the PDC World Darts Championship 2012, he moved to victories over John Henderson, Richie Burnett and Kevin Painter to the quarter- finals, where they lost in sudden death against James Wade. At the start of the season in 2012 succeeded in part and his Canadian partner Ken McNeil at the PDC World Cup of Darts, although both single against the top-seeded Englishman (World Champion Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor) to win, after losing a double, the two Death double but failed in a Sudden Leg. In mid- 2012 was Part 23 of the PDC Order of Merit. John Part won the prelude to the newly introduced North American Pro Tour with 6-1 legs in the final against Daryn Young in July 2012.
