John Ricard

John Huston Ricard SSJ (* February 29, 1940 in Baton Rouge) is retired bishop of Pensacola - Tallahassee.

Life

John Huston Ricard joined the Congregation of St. Joseph Society of the Sacred Heart and received on 25 May 1968, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 25 May 1984 in Baltimore and Titular Bishop of Rucuma. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Baltimore, William Donald Borders, on 2 July of the same year; Co-consecrators were the Thomas Austin Murphy, Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore, and Eugene Antonio Marino SSJ, Auxiliary Bishop of Washington.

On January 20, 1997, he was appointed Bishop of Pensacola - Tallahassee. From his office he resigned on 11 March 2011.
