John Rock (American scientist)

John Rock ( born March 24, 1890 in Marlborough, Massachusetts; † 4 December 1984) was an American gynecologist.

Life

Rock studied medicine at Harvard University. Skirt was a pioneer in the research of cryopreservation and in vitro fertilization. From 1952 rock was involved in the clinical trials developed by Gregory Pincus pill in Massachusetts. 1955, the success of the clinical trials of the contraceptive pill Enovid was announced. Enovid in 1957 admitted to the U.S. market. As a Catholic, he advocated birth control pills and sat down for a change in the Catholic attitude in this subject area a; but despite his best efforts, his television appearances and radio interviews appeared in 1968, the papal encyclical Humanae Vitae, which forbade birth control pills. Rock was married and had five children.
