John Rosengrant

John Rosengrant (* in the 20th century ) is a make-up and special effects artist who was nominated in 2012 for Real Steel for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects.

Life

He studied art at Louisiana State University. He then moved to California where he worked for Stan Winston, an expert on special effects and make- up design, at the Stan Winston Studios from 1983. In 1984 he worked on his first feature film The Terminator at the special effects of the terminator. In the following years, films like Predator, followed Interview with the Vampire, Sixth Sense and Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines.

After the death of Stan Winston in 2008 he founded with three other long-term employees of the company, Lindsay MacGowan, J. Alan Scott and Shane Mahan, the studio Legacy Effects. There he worked in the following years as a studio coordinator on such films as The Hunger Games - The Hunger Games, Avatar - Pandora and Iron Man 2. In 2012, he was together with Erik Nash, Dan Taylor (Trick technicians) and Swen Gillberg nominated for Real Steel for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects.
