Johnny Wright (boxer)

John Alan Wright ( born May 19, 1929 in London, † 12 July 2001 in Blandford ) was a British boxer. He won the 1948 Olympic silver medal in the middleweight division.

John Wright 1948 English middleweight champion and took in the same year at the 14th Summer Olympic Games in London, where he and in the preliminary round Hermann Schneider of Switzerland, in the second round Hector Garcia from Argentina, in the quarterfinals January Schubart from the Netherlands defeated in the semifinals Michael McKeon from Ireland. In the final he was defeated by Hungary László Papp.
