Johnson Family Vacation

Johnson Family Travel (Original Title: Johnson Family Vacation ) is an American comedy film directed by Christopher Erskin from the year 2004.

Action

The Los Angeles Nate Johnson is a successful career. He forces his wife Dorothy, to devote himself exclusively to the household and the education of the three children. In response, the spouses separate times; two daughters live with Dorothy while the son DJ lives with his father.

The Johnson's head for the annual family reunion in Missouri. Dorothy comes with only because they want to be with their children. On the way they are being harassed by a truck driver and arrested by the police. A man tries to seduce the daughter of Nikki. At the destination, Dorothy wants to return and threatened that she would reveal the rest of the family separation, which would represent a burden on the family.

Background

The film was shot in the California cities of Bakersfield, Los Angeles and Santa Clarita. His cost of production was estimated at twelve million dollars. The film played in theaters in the USA about a 31.2 million U.S. dollars.

Reviews

Kevin Thomas wrote in the Los Angeles Times, 7 April 2004, although the film was not outstanding, but he was a " cavalier " comedy show, the comedic talents of Cedric the Entertainer. This would support the Steve Harvey and " charming " and " funny " Vanessa Williams. Especially Vanessa Williams show in their supporting role "beauty", "talent" and "Star Quality".

The lexicon of the International film wrote that the film was an " exaggerated comedy in the style of a road movie, created as a single chain of absurd stories without wit and imagination ".

Awards

Cedric the Entertainer, Vanessa Lynn Williams and the screenplay were nominated in 2004 for the BET Comedy Award.
