Joint Task Force Guantanamo

The Joint Task Force Guantanamo ( JTF - GTMO ) (English as " United Task Force Guantanamo " ) is a partially contending force overarching command of the U.S. armed forces, which is in the east of Cuba, in Guantánamo Bay, stationed. The unit acts as the operator of the internment Camp Delta in Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, are brought into the trapped since September 11, 2001 terrorist suspects from Afghanistan and Iraq.

The JTF - GTMO is the U.S. Southern Command reports directly. JTF - GTMO was set up in November 2002 and formed from the Task Force 160 and 170.

Current commander is Rear Admiral Richard W. Butler.
