Jolly Little Elves

Jolly Little Elves is an American animated short film directed by Bill Nolan from the year 1934.

Action

A poor shoemaker and his wife have even barely enough food to survive, as they take a cold evening, a freezing elf in her house. They share a coffee and the last, hard donut - the Elf shows them that the pastry is soft again when it dips into the coffee. The shoemaker and his wife go to sleep.

During the night the elf appears with numerous friends and provides thanks for the proven charity numerous shoes forth in the cobbler shop. The next morning, the cobbler is surprised and pleased with the numerous new shoes. The shoes are a big seller, the shoemaker and his wife are wealthy and even the Queen equips the business a visit. For a large party with coffee and donuts, the shoemaker and his wife finally thank the elves.

Production

Jolly Little Elves came on 1 October 1934 as part of the Lantz Cartune Classics cartoon series in theaters.

The elf was dubbed by Bernice Hansen.

Awards

Jolly Little Elves in 1935 was nominated for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against the tortoise and the hare itself.
