Jonas Bergqvist

Jonas Bergqvist ( born September 26, 1962 in Hässleholm ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in his playing days from 1981 to 1999 among others for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League and the Mannheimer ERC in the hockey league.

Career

Jonas Bergqvist started his career as a hockey player with Leksand IF, for which he was active in the Elitserien 1981-1989. During this period, the attacker in the NHL Entry Draft, was selected in the sixth round in 1988 when a total of 126 players from the Calgary Flames. For the Flames, he played in the 1989/90 season in the National Hockey League as well as for their farm team in the International Hockey League, the Salt Lake Golden Eagles. In his rookie year he scored it in 22 NHL scorers inserts seven points, including two goals. Following this season, the Swede moved to Mannheim ERC in the Hockey League, for whom he scored 16 goals in 36 games and had 23 templates.

In the summer of 1991, Bergqvist returned to his former club Leksand IF, for which he ran aground until 1998. Subsequently, the Olympic champion from 1994 was engaged by the VEU Feldkirch in Austria, with whom he won the Alpine League in the season 1998/99. Following this success the links Sagittarius ended his career at the age of 36 years.

Internationally

For Bergqvist Sweden participated in the World Youth Championship in 1982 and the World Championships in 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1998 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of Sweden at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 and 1994 in Lillehammer and the World Cup of Hockey 1996.
