Jonathan Schmid ( * June 22, 1990 in Strasbourg ) is a French football player who has Austrian citizenship since 2012. Since 2008 he has been the German Bundesliga club SC Freiburg active for the first team he plays since January 2011.

Career

Jonathan Schmid, son of an Alsatian mother and an Austrian, began four years with Racing Strasbourg with the football games. At sixteen he joined in 2006 for one season for SC Schiltigheim and then played for half a year at CS Mars 1905 Bischheim. From January 2008, Schmid played for half a year in the youth division of the German Association Offenburger FV before he moved to the youth of the second division club SC Freiburg in the summer of 2008.
