Jonathan Grant " Jonny " Evans ( born January 3, 1988 in Belfast ) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays in the position of central defender and currently stands at Manchester United.
Career
In the club
Evans started his career at FC Green Iceland, where he was spotted by scouts from Manchester United. In Manchester Evans went through all the youth teams and came in various smaller tournaments during the summer break in 2006 for use. Manchester finally decided to borrow Evans alongside Darron Gibson, Danny Simpson and Fraizer Campbell for a year at Royal Antwerp.
Then followed a year at Sunderland, where he was elected "Young Player of the Year", and then returned to the 2007 summer break to Manchester. On 26 September 2007 Evans made his debut for Manchester United against Coventry City in the FA Cup (final result: 2-0). In the UEFA Champions League Evans made his debut on 7 November 2007 at the home game against Dynamo Kiev when he came for the last few minutes for Gerard Piqué. In the starting lineup Evans was only on 12 December 2007 against AS Roma. In addition, he played two games in the UEFA Champions League. In January 2008, he was again loaned out to Sunderland to gather more experience. After 15 games, he returned to the 2008/09 season Manchester United back.
In the National Team
His debut for the Northern Ireland national team gave Evans on 6 September 2006 in a 3-2 victory against Spain.

Others
A stir Evans made on 18 December 2007, when he was discharged to a private party with players from Manchester by the police after a 26 -year-old woman alleged to have been raped by Evans. However, the investigation was discontinued due to lack of evidence on March 14, 2008.
