Jorat Menthue since July 1, 2011, a municipality in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.
Geography
The municipality is located in southeastern Jorat Menthue de Gros- de -Vaud in the Molassehügeln Jorat about 5 km south-southeast of the canton capital Lausanne. The municipality comprises the villages of Chardonney Montaubion, Montmeillan, Peney -le- Jorat, Sottens, Villars- Mendraz and Villars- Tiercelin as well as various individual farms. The neighboring communities of Jorat Menthue are in the north Montanaire, northeast Moudon, in the east Hermenches, in the southeast Corcelles -le- Jorat, southwest Froideville, in the west Poliez -Pittet and to the northwest Montilliez.
History
The now former municipalities Montaubion- Chardonney Peney -le- Jorat, Sottens, Villars- Mendraz and Villars- Tiercelin merged on 1 July 2011 for new community Jorat Menthue.
Attractions
The most important landmark in the field of community - Jorat Menthue is the transmission tower of the western Swiss national radio station Radio Sottens.
