José Aguilar Álvarez

José Aguilar Álvarez (* 1902 in Mexico City, † 1959) was a Mexican physician and briefly Rector of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM).

Biography

Aguilar Álvarez visited the Colegio Francés and attained university entrance at the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria. In March 1923, he received his professional qualification and was from 1925 at the Escuela Nacional de Medicina lecturer for Topographic anatomy. From July 1938 to July 1942 he was director of the Escuela Nacional de Medicina, School of Medicine, UNAM. From 3 to 7 August 1944 he reigned as rector of the UNAM and briefly taught there until his death.
