José Leandro Ferreira

José Leandro de Souza Ferreira aka Leandro ( born March 17, 1959 in Cabo Frio ) is a former Brazilian footballer. He played in defense.

He was born in Cabo Frio 150 kilometers east of Rio de Janeiro and began his career as a 19 year old tradition at the club Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro. During his career he won with Flamengo four times the Brazilian soccer championship, five times the state championship of the State of Rio de Janeiro once the Libertadores da América, Latin American Champions Cup, and once the World Cup, the highest honor in club football, against Liverpool.

He also played between September 1981 and May 1986 27 times for Brazil. For Brazil, he took part in the Copa América in 1983 and played up to two games all as a regular player.
