José Lima

José Desiderio Rodriguez Lima ( born September 30, 1972 in Santiago, Dominican Republic, † 23 May, 2010 Pasadena, California, USA) was a Dominican baseball player.

Lima, who held the position of pitcher during his playing days, played 13 seasons in Major League Baseball. He was a member of the Detroit Tigers (1994-1996, 2001-2002), Houston Astros (1997-2001), Kansas City Royals (2003, 2005), Los Angeles Dodgers (2004) and most recently the New York Mets (2006).

His most successful season denied Lima 1999. He recorded 21 wins for the Astros and participated in the All-Star Game.

After his time in the MLB Lima signed a contract in 2008 for the Kia Tigers in the Korea Baseball Organization. After streaky services changed Lima, 2009 in the Golden Baseball League (GBL ) to the Long Beach Armada.

Lima died on 23 May 2010 at the age of 37 years to a heart attack at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California.
