José Luis Alcaine

José Luis Alcaine ( born December 26, 1938 in Tangier, Morocco ) is a Spanish cinematographer.

Since the mid- 1960s, he has worked on more than 140 productions. Most notably he has worked for Spanish film productions. Since the late 1980s he often worked with Pedro Almodóvar.

Alcaine, the fluorescent tubes used as the first cameraman in the 1970s as light sources, was awarded the 2006 European Film Award for Best Cinematography. Five times he won the Best Cinematography Goya.
