José María Guido

José María Guido ( born August 29, 1910 in Buenos Aires, † June 13, 1975 ) was an Argentine politician.

In 1958 he was elected for the province of Río Negro in the Senate and represented the party there UCRI. He was appointed interim president of the Senate and was the first to succeed to the state presidency after the resignation of Vice President Alejandro Gómez. After the victory of the Peronist relieved of this Arturo Frondizi the President of the Office and permitted, with the support of the Supreme Court Guido the office. Guido was thus on March 30, 1962 to October 12, 1963, de facto president of Argentina, and the only civilian who took over a government office in Argentina due to a military coup. His successor in office was Arturo Umberto Illia.
