José Peseiro

José Vitor dos Santos Peseiro ( born April 4, 1960 in Coruche ) is a Portuguese football coach.

Career

As a coach

Peseiro, who graduated from the same coaching course together with José Mourinho, his career began in 1992 with the club União de Santarém where he remained until 1994. After two years with União de Montemor and three years in Oriental he finally in 1999 moved to CD Nacional Madeira played at this time in the third Portuguese league. With Madeira Peseiro rose in his first season in the second division in order to make it perfect just after two more years, the rise in the highest Portuguese league. Following these exceptional Peseiro got in the summer of 2003, an offer from the top Spanish club Real Madrid where he, behind Carlos Queiroz, held the post of assistant coach. In July 2008 he took over as coach of the Romanian first division club Rapid Bucharest. There he was on leave after leaving in the UEFA Cup, on 3 October 2008 and took until January 2009 other tasks in the club. After the initial defeat at the Asian Cup 2011 he was dismissed as coach of Saudi Arabia without notice.

On June 8, 2012 Peseiro was officially introduced as the new head coach of SC Braga. There he signed a contract for 2 years. In the first year he won the League Cup though, but his team finished only fourth in the league and thus missed out on the UEFA Champions League play-offs. Then he agreed with the club on a contract.
