José Vidal (footballer)

José Vidal ( * December 15, 1896; † 3 July 1974) was a Uruguayan football player.

Association

Midfielder Vidal was at least 1922 to 1924 the cadres of the time since the rise of the Year 1918 in the Primera División gambling club Belgrano. In 1923 they reached the fourth place, the best season ending placement of the club's history.

National

Vidal was also a member of the Uruguayan national team. Overall, he graduated from his debut on November 4, 1923 until his last game for the Celeste on June 9, 1924 seven matches in which he scored one goal.

He participated with the national team to three championships South America. These were the tournaments in 1922, 1923 and 1924. 1923 and 1924 Uruguay won the title. At the Olympic Summer Games in 1924 Vidal finally celebrated with the cadres of Celeste his greatest career success. It was Olympic champion, which he actively contributed in four games.
