Josef Heumann

Josef Heumann ( born October 14, 1964) is a former German ski jumpers and Nordic combined.

On 30 December 1981 Heumann made ​​his international debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup as part of the prelude to jumping Four Hills Tournament 1981/82 in Oberstdorf. He, however, remained unsuccessful and ended only in the rear midfield.

1984 and 1985 denied Heumann three World Cup races as a Nordic skier. He reached the 7th place in the individual in the Swedish Falun his best result. After two more top -15 finishes in 1985, however, Heumann concentrated again fully on his career as a special Springer.

From 1986, he started once again in the Ski Jumping World Cup. The Four Hills Tournament 1986/87 was, however, unsuccessful, so he took in the World Cup season 1986 /87 and no further jumping. It was only on 13 December 1987, he started again at a World Cup competition in Lake Placid, reaching surprisingly the 4th Place. Even the subsequent Four Hills Tournament 1987/88 was better. He achieved a 6th place in Innsbruck, among others.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 Heumann jumped on the normal hill on the 31st and on the large hill on the 36th. In the team competition, he reached the 6th place together with Andreas Bauer, Peter Rohwein and Thomas Klauser.

The season 1988/1989 he started with several top - 10 finishes. In the first two competitions he gained placements in the top ten. A good touring placement failed to materialize after he finished only 46th place in Bischofshofen in the last competition.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Lahti, he jumped on the normal hill on the 33rd and on the large hill on the 23th Place. The World Cup season 1989/90 started behaving with varying results. However, when in Oberstdorf in the Four Hills Tournament 1989/90 he was able to achieve his best individual result of his career with the 2nd place. In the overall classification, he finished touring at the end of the 7th Place.

In the Ski Flying World Championships 1990 in Vikersund Heumann flew on the 18th Place. In the following two years, he could rarely achieve good rankings. Therefore, he started from 1991 in addition in the ski jumping Continental Cup, but remained there without success and ended in 1992 then his active ski jumping career.
