Josef Pecanka

Josef Pecanka ( born April 7, 1925) is a former Austrian football player and coach and was among others the personal trainer of Hans Krankl.

Pecanka was youth coach at FK Austria Wien and was under coach Béla Guttmann in March 1973 as his assistant. In the 1973/74 season he was promoted to head coach and won with Austria the ÖFB Cup victory. With the SK Rapid Wien he could repeat this success in the game year 1975/76.

Today, Josef Pecanka lives with his wife Eleanor in a Gemeindebauwohnung in Ottakring. He has two daughters, Eleanor and Brigitta, who each brought already two sons. Eleanor brought Franz and Simon Bendlinger in the district of Braunau to the world and Brigitta gave Florian and Christian Sedy in Vienna life. When he stopped with the sport of football, he began to be interested in the sport of hockey and made ​​it into this sport up in the Austrian national team. Today, he is an honorary head of the section of the Post SV field hockey and helps to make Austria the far field hockey sport popular.
