Josef Sieber

Josef Sieber ( born April 28, 1900 in Witten; † December 3, 1962 in Hamburg ) was a German actor.

Life

The son of the master shaft Ludwig Sieber and his wife Anna Maria, nee Rath, completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and then spent seven years a sailor in the merchant marine. In 1924 he became an actor, first at the Municipal Theatre Hagen, 1926 at the Stadttheater Würzburg and 1927 at the Stadttheater Aachen. From 1931 to 1933 he was part of the ensemble at the Hessian State Theater in Darmstadt, 1933 to 1945 at the Volksbühne Berlin. Sieber 1938 was awarded the title of "state actors ". After the war he played at various stages in Berlin and was from 1949 to 1954 at the Hamburg Chamber of active games.

He worked from 1934 in over 60 German feature films, occasionally with a few songs, the best known being the song This can not shake with Hans and Heinz Brausewetter Riihmann is a sailor. The slightly stocky actor, who appeared mostly in supporting roles, could successfully continue his career after the war. Josef Sieber was married to Caroline Johanna Hildebrandt since 1935. He died of a heart attack. His grave site is located at the cemetery in Grünwald near Munich.
