Josef Štěpánek Netolický

Josef Stepanek Netolický ( Stepan Netolický, * 1460, † 1538) was a Bohemian pond builder.

Life

He came from a non-free family in Netolice and was initially hunters in the service of the South Bohemian nobles Wok von Rosenberg.

From the 1490s put him Wok von Rosenberg as agents in the construction of extensive ponds around the city Lomnice nad Lužnicí and Trebon one. During this time the ponds Koclířov (1491-1495), Velky Tisy emerged (1502-1505) and Ruda ( 1495 ).

After the death of Wok von Rosenberg Stepanek 1505 top " fish masters" on the estates of Rosenberg. He has developed and implemented plans for the construction of the ponds Opatovický rybnik (1510-1514), Horusický rybnik (1511-1512) and Kanov (1515 ) and the enlargement of the Záblatský rybnik ( 1509 ). Stepanek most famous work, the artificial watercourse is Zlata stoka (Golden Canal) that connects all the fish ponds of the Trebon Basin together and supplied with fresh water.
