Josefina Lavalle

Josefina Lavalle ( born January 29, 1924 Distrito Federal, † May 25, 2009 ibid ) was a Mexican ballet dancer, choreographer and former ballet director.

Biography

Lavalle learned at the Escuela Nacional de Danza classical and folkloric ballet at Nellie and Gloria Campobello. She was a member of the Ballet de Bellas Artes ( Fine Arts Ballet ), then under the direction of Waldeen. Together with choreographer Anna Sokolow she recognized her talent for modern dance.
