Joseph-Christian-Ernest Bourret

Joseph- Christian -Ernest Bourret CO ( * December 9, 1827 Labro, † July 10, 1896 in Rodez) was a French bishop and cardinal.

Life

Joseph- Christian -Ernest Bourret was ordained in Paris on 20 September 1851 Priests of the Oratory. Pope Pius IX. appointed him on July 19, 1871 Bishop of Rodez. He was confirmed on 27 October 1871 as a bishop. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Paris, Joseph Hippolyte Guibert, OMI, on 30 November of the same year; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Albi, Jean -Paul -François -Marie- Félix Lyonnet, and the Bishop of Périgueux, Nicolas- Joseph Dabert. On June 12, 1893 it took Leo XIII. as cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Maria Nuova in the College of Cardinals.
