Joseph Kosinski

Joseph Kosinski ( May 3, 1974) is an American film director.

Life

Kosinski grew from 1979 to 1992 in Marshalltown, Iowa, on.

After leaving school, he studied mechanical engineering at Stanford University, where he recommended a professor to begin a study of the architecture. Then he moved to the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University.

From 2004, he has directed several commercials, including Nike, Chevrolet, BMW or computer games like Halo 3 and Gears of War. About this work of Sean Bailey film producer became aware of him and convinced Disney to let Kosinski produce a teaser for the planned sequel to the 1982 science fiction film Tron. The screening of the short film titled TR2N at Comic Con 2008 received outstanding reviews. 2010 came the feature film Tron: Legacy in theaters, although it for the visual aspect has received much praise, but has also been criticized for the thin plot. Nevertheless, the film with a worldwide box office of over 400 million U.S. dollars was financially successful.

In April 2013 appeared Kosinski's second feature film Oblivion, where Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman took over the lead roles. The screenplay was based on a 2005 written by Kosinski and Arvid Nelson graphic novel.
