Joseph Küffner

Joseph Küffner ( born March 31, 1776 in Würzburg, † September 9, 1856 ibid ) was a German musician and composer.

Küffner comes from a Frankish family of musicians, his father was court music director in Würzburg. He worked as a violinist in the court orchestra Würzburg and also performed as a soloist. With the incorporation of Franconia in the Kingdom of Bavaria, he was temporarily relieved of Hofmusikdienstes. He took over the music master post in a Bavarian regiment, and was given the task to reorganize the military music. Against this background, he worked as a composer. He devoted himself next to the military music and the harmony of music, which enjoyed great popularity. In addition, he also wrote numerous pieces for guitar and in particular several dozen trios for two instruments and guitar.
