Joseph Madec

Joseph Théophile Louis Marie Madec ( born March 15, 1923 in Ploërmel, Morbihan, France, † February 5, 2013 in Vannes ) was Bishop of Fréjus -Toulon.

Life

Joseph Madec studied from 1945 to 1950 philosophy at the seminary of Vannes and theology at the Séminaire français de Rome and received on 5 April 1947 in the Lateran Basilica to the priesthood. He studied theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and a Bible study at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He was secretary of the diocese of Vannes and chaplain of the diocese schools, later pastor in Lorient. In 1953 he became professor of dogmatic theology at the major seminary of Vannes, in 1965 the Superior and from 1971 with the merger of Superior Breton seminars in inter-diocesan seminary in Rennes. 1976 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI.
