Joseph Nduhirubusa

Joseph Nduhirubusa ( born April 24, 1938 in Kigarika, Burundi, † 16 July, 2012 Ruyigi, Burundi ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Ruyigi.

Life

Joseph Nduhirubusa came after attending the parish school of Rusengo in the minor seminary ( Petit Seminaire ) in a Mugera. He then studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Burasira and Bujumbura. He received on 21 July 1964, the priesthood for the Diocese of Ruyigi. In the following years he taught at the minor seminary in Rusengo and Mugera. After doctoral studies from 1970 to 1975 in Moral Theology at the Accademia in Rome Alfonsiana theology there has been to the doctor doctorate and was a professor of moral and pastoral theology at the seminary in Bujumbura.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 19 April 1980, on the Bishop of Ruyigi. The Pope personally consecrated him on 4 May of that year to the bishop; Co-consecrators were Cardinal Agnelo Rossi, Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, and Joseph -Albert Cardinal Maloula, Archbishop of Kinshasa. His episcopal motto was " Tu Renovabis faciem terrae " ( You renew the face of the earth ).

2002 was kidnapped rebels and later passed near Bujumbura church representatives Joseph Nduhirubusa of CNDD-FDD.

Joseph Nduhirubusa visited on the occasion of Misereor Lenten Campaign 2008, several dioceses in Germany. He was guest of honor in 2008 for the 50th anniversary of the Catholic relief organization Misereor in the Diocese of Rottenburg- Stuttgart. On the 7th International Day of Prayer in Amsterdam from 6 to 8 May 2005, he celebrated his silver anniversary as a priest.

Pope Benedict XVI. took 30 October 2010 to be pre- mounted for health reasons resignation.
