Joseph Nunoo-Mensah

Joseph Nunoo -Mensah was Brigadier General of the Ghana Armed Forces and leading politicians of the military government of the Provisional National Defence Council ( PNDC ) under Jerry Rawlings in Ghana.

Brigadier General Nunoo -Mensah was appointed (Chief of Defence Staff ) during the first military government of Jerry Rawlings and his Armed Forces Revolutionary Council in 1979 as commander of the Ghanaian Defense Forces. In November 1979, he was informed by the now democratic government of the People's National Party under Hilla Aeschlimann into retirement.

After the second successful coup led by Jerry Rawlings Nunoo -Mensah was appointed by Rawlings as a member of the military government of the PNDC on January 2, 1982. Already in November 1982 resulted in differences with Rawlings to resign from the military government. Today he is a member of the ruling party New Patriotic Party (NPP ). In the presidential election of 1998, he was campaign manager for the candidate of the NPP Nana Addo internal election campaign Dankwa Akufo - Addo, who was defeated by later presidential candidate John Agyekum Kufuor NPP.
