The Josh Joplin Group was a native of Georgia pop band led by singer and songwriter Josh Joplin, in 2003 disbanded.

Career

After the release of two independent albums ( Boxing Nostalgic and overhead projector ) under the name Josh Joplin band, the band signed with Artemis Records and released their album Useful Music in 2000. Album was produced mostly by Shawn Mullins, the album went very good reviews but had no commercial success. However, it contains a rather successful Song: Camera One. The song made ​​it in 2001 to number 29 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 charts.

In September 2002, the Josh Joplin Group their second major label album, The Future That Was published. The musical styles were equally diverse, ranging from the slow piano and acoustic guitar-pop too optimistic keyboard and e- guitar rock.

Like its predecessor, The Future That Was received good reviews but sold poorly. It appeared two single releases, I Am Not just the cowboy and Wonder Wheel, but neither the one nor the other was successful. The album made ​​it to number 44 on the Billboard charts. In autumn 2003 the band split up, but still played two last shows in Atlanta in December of this year.
