Joshua " Josh " Meyers ( born December 7, 1985 in Alexandria, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who penguins from the DEL is since the summer of 2012 at the Krefeld under contract.

Career

Josh Meyers began his career as a hockey player in the 2003/04 season with the Minnesota Blizzard of the Junior League North American Hockey League. Then the defender also played one year for the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League. He was then in the seventh round selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 when a total of 206 players from the Los Angeles Kings, for which, however, he never played. Instead, he attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and was from 2005 to 2009 for the ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association on the ice. With this he won in the 2008 / 09 season, the championship of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, where he was elected even in the Third All-Star Team.

In the 2009/10 season Meyers made ​​his debut in professional hockey when he first twelve games in three assists for the Utah Grizzlies in the ECHL was before he spent the rest of the season with Abbotsford Heat in the American Hockey League. In this, he scored four goals in 65 games and gave an additional 15 templates. In summer 2011, he joined the Italian giants HC Bolzano in the series A1, with whom he won the Italian championship in season 2011/12.
