Josh Thompson (biathlete)

Joshua Casey " Josh " Thompson ( born February 18, 1962 in Lawrence, Kansas) is a former American biathlete.

Josh Thompson took part in three Winter Olympic Games. At the games in Sarajevo in 1984, he took up the sprint and was 40th as well as with Bill Carow, Donald Nielsen Jr. and Lyle Nelson in the squadron, with which he was as -cage rotor eleventh. Four years later, the American was in Calgary in all three possible races in use. In the sprint Thompson reached the 27th place in individual he was 25, and with Nelson, Curt Schreiner and Darin binning in the season, where it was used again as the final runners who finished ninth. In 1992 he was again in Albertville play all three races. In the sprint Thompson ran on the 32th place in the individual he was 16, and with Jon Engen, Duncan Douglas and cabinetmakers 13th in the season. His biggest international success was achieved by Thompson at the Biathlon World Championships 1987 in Lake Placid home. Behind the triple world champion Frank -Peter Roetsch and before the Czechoslovaks January Matous he took the silver medal. It was also the best result of a U.S. American in biathlon ever. Thompson is a member of the Hall of Fame of the U.S. Biathlon.
