Journal of Business & Economic Statistics

The Journal of Business and Economic Statistics ( JBES ) is an economics journal whose focus is economic statistics. The Journal of Business and Economics is also the official journal of the American Statistical Association and is published by the publisher Taylor & Francis with a frequency of four issues per year.

History

The Journal of Business and Economic Statistics was founded in 1983 with Keisuke Hirano ( University of Arizona ), and Jonathan H. Wright ( Johns Hopkins University).

Content

The Journal of Business and Economic Statistics published articles on various topics, mainly through the application of statistical analysis in the fields of microeconomics, macroeconomics, business economics, finance and economic forecasting. More general articles in statistics, econometrics, computational methods, simulation and graphical representation are also within the scope of the journal, provided that they take on the general areas of interest of the journal reference. Articles that are published in JBES should contain significant results, apply quality methods, explain the problem convincing and usually include substantial empirical applications.

Editing

The editors of the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics consists of the chief editors Rong Chen ( Rutgers University) and Shabeeb Khan (Duke University), Jamie Hutchens as an editorial coordinator and 77 Associate Editors.

Reception

In a study of Kalaitzidakis et al. (2003) documented the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics Course 9 of 159 evaluated publications, however, declined in an updated study of Kalaitzidakis et al. (2011) ranked 30 out of 209 compared Publications from. In economics publication ranking of the Tinbergen Institute at the University of Amsterdam led the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics in category A ("very good general economics journals and top journals in their field ").
