Jozef Kabaň

Jozef Kaban ( born January 4, 1973 in Námestovo, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak automotive designers.

Training

After leaving school in 1991 he studied product and industrial design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia.

1997 Jozef Kaban received the title of Master of Arts in vehicle design from the Royal College of Art ( London, England ), and thus became the first Slovakian native who made a conclusion to this pure post-graduate institution.

Career

During his studies Kaban participated in a Škoda design competition, which was organized by Volkswagen. His performance as the runner seemed to have left an impression since he was supported during his remaining period of study of Volkswagen, and then a job as a Junior / Assistant was offered designers at Volkswagen.

During his time at Volkswagen Kaban heard strong support by the then design chief Hartmut Warkuß. Under Warkuß ' leadership was Kaban from 1999 responsible for the design of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and supervised this super sports car project from the first sketches to the start of series production.

Jozef Kaban left the Volkswagen AG in 2003 and moved to Audi, where he was Head of the vehicle exterior design since 2006.

Since February 1, 2008 Kaban is the new Head of Design at Škoda Auto, where he takes over from Jens Manske, while Manske changes back to the parent company Volkswagen.
