Jozefina Topalli

Jozefina Topalli Coba (* November 26, 1963 in Shkodër ) is an Albanian politician (PD). Between 2005 and 2013 she held the position of President of the Kuvendi i Shqipërisë.

Life

After school she studied mathematics and law at the Luigj - Gurakuqi University in her native city of Shkodra. Then she graduated in International Relations at the University of Padua in Italy, and also earned a degree of Public Administration at the University of Tirana. Subsequently, she was a staff member in the Chamber of Commerce of the Municipality of Shkodra before it was 1995-1996 Chancellor of Education at the Luigj - Gurakuqi University.

In 1996 she began her political career with the election of Deputies in the Parliament, where she has since been representing the interests of the Democratic Party (PD). First, it was between 1996 and 1997 Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Parliament, and then from 1997 to 2005 Vice- President of the Parliament. She is also, since 1997, Vice Chairman of the PD.

Since 2002 she is also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council and a member of its Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Family and Vice President of the Committee for Women. During the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2004 she was employed there on behalf of the Council of Europe as an election observer.

Between September 2005 and September 9, 2013 3 she was President of the Parliament and was confirmed in this office after the parliamentary elections in 2009. Since September 10, 2013 Ilir Meta ( LSI) President of the Parliament.
