In 1945, he debuted in the first team of Kispest and soon became the engine of his team.

In 1949 he won the first league title with his club, which had been renamed in the same year by the Communist government in Budapest Honvéd and officially declared the army club. All players were awarded a military rank - Bozsik the rank of major - but without really exerting a military function.

Just two years earlier, in 1947, he was appointed for the first time in the national team. With the Football World Cup 1954, Hungary joined as a big favorite and reached the final with 25:7 doors without much effort. In the quarterfinals, fouled the Brazilian Santos Nílton Bozsik and the situation escalated: Both fought a short boxing match and referee Arthur Ellis sent both after 71 minutes from the field. However, the lock was only for the remainder of the game. In the semifinals Bozsik led the Hungarians as a captain on the field ( Puskas was injured) and won the match against Uruguay 4-2. His bitterest hour of wearing the national jersey he experienced in the finale, when Hungary lost against Germany 2:3.

In 1956 the Hungarian national uprising was crushed by the Soviet army, Bozsik was in contrast to teammates as Puskás, Kocsis or Czibor in Hungary. In the following years he was a Member of Parliament ( more of a figurehead than a real politician) and lived with his wife in Budapest a ladies fashion store. In 1974, he was an international match long Hungarian national coach. He wrote commentaries for the Budapest sports newspaper " Képes Sport" and died at the age of 52 of a heart attack.
