József Galamb

József Galamb (* 1881 in Mako, Hungary, † 1955 in Detroit ) was the inventor of the Ford Model T.

Life

József Galamb was a mechanical engineer, earned his diploma at the Technical University of Budapest. As an employee of Ford car factory, he designed the famous Model T ( also called Tin Lizzy ), invented the gear freewheel and electric ignition. He also developed the technology for the assembly line production of cars. From the small Ford car factory it created a gigantic work. In 19 years, Ford built 15.5 million "T- models ". József Galamb also designed the elegant " model A". He was also the designer of the " Fordsontraktors ", which he designed during the First World War. The British government appointed by this tractor 7000 copies. For farmers, this tractor was very popular, it was easier than all other tractors and operation much easier. In 1925 came more than 50 % of the produced in the United States of Ford tractors
