Ju -on: The Grudge (Japanese呪 怨, Juon ) is a Japanese film made in 2002 by Takashi Shimizu. He is the first film of the Ju -on series, previously only appeared on the market two video releases, in the same year with Ju -on: The Grudge 2 continues and received the 2004 with The Grudge - The Curse of a U.S. remake.

Production and publication

The film was derived from Oz Company, directed by Takashi Shimizu, from which the screenplay. Producer was Takashige Ichise, the music was composed by Shiro Sato.

In October 2002, Ju -on was: The Grudge listed for the first time at the Scream Festival in the USA. The theatrical premiere of the film took place in Japan on 25 January 2003. He was then shown, among others, the Fantasy Film Festival in 2003 and translated into English, Spanish and Russian. Highlight Film released the film in 2004 in German on DVD.
