Juan Antonio Bayona
Juan Antonio Bayona ( born May 9, 1975 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish film director.
Life
After commercials and music videos and short films such as Mis Vacaciones (1999) and El Hombre Esponja (2002) turned Bayona in 2006 his first feature film The Orphanage (El orfanato ), his friend and patron Guillermo del Toro produced. The film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2007. In 2010, he turned with Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in the lead roles in Spain and Thailand the movie The Impossible, which treats of the tsunami disaster in 2004 and 2013 for which he won the Goya for best director.
