Juan Morales (Cuban athlete)

Juan Morales Hechavarria ( born July 12, 1948 in Santiago de Cuba ) is a former Cuban hurdler and sprinter.

At the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 1967 and 1971 in Cali, he won the bronze medal in the 110- meter hurdles. At the Olympic Games in 1968 in Mexico City, he reached the semi-finals in this discipline.

At the same Olympics he had his greatest success in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. The Cuban quartet in the cast Hermes Ramírez Morales, Pablo Montes, and Enrique Figuerola won silver with 0.1 seconds down on the U.S. relay race that 's set a world record with 38.2.
