Juan Pablo Bonet

Juan Pablo Bonet (* 1579, † 1633 in Spain) was an administrative official of the Spanish Government and wrote in 1620 the first known plant for Deaf Education.

Life

In Bonets work Reducción de las letras y arte para enseñar a ablar going Mudos the so-called finger spelling ( " finger - ABC" ) is described for the first time communication for the hearing impaired.

Bonet lived as a secretary in the budget of the Spanish nobleman Juan Fernández de Velasco y Tovar, who had three deaf sons.

It is regarded as evidence that Bonet itself hardly had direct experience with pigeons, and in reality, the methods of Manuel Ramírez de Carrión plagiarized, who taught the third son of the family, Luis. Manuel Ramírez de Carrión, in turn, so that continued the work of Pedro Ponce de León, who had taught the first two sons.

Bonet counted with the publication of his work apparently with the mere publication for recognition.
