Juan Pablo Rodríguez ( born August 7, 1979 in Zapopan, Jalisco ), also known by the nickname El Chato and Comandante, is a Mexican football player who acts in midfield.

Life

Association

" El Chato " Rodríguez began his career in the youth sections of the CD Occidente and moved to the junior level of the CF Atlas, where he stood during the first six years of his professional career from 1997 to 2003 under contract later. The next three years he was at the Tecos de la UAG based in his home city of Zapopan under contract, before joining Chivas in the summer of 2006. Thus, the " Comandante " has already played for all three Premier League clubs of the metropolis of Guadalajara; and although he played for Chivas only a half season ( Apertura 2006), he won his first championship in the same.

Immediately after this triumph changed " El Chato " together with that of his contemporary international goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez to Santos Laguna, where he has since the beginning of 2007 under the Treaty and the 2008 Clausura another championship titles won.

National

Between 2000 and 2006, Rodríguez completed a total of 43 international appearances for the Mexican national team. His debut he celebrated in a discharged on January 9, 2000 Test match against Iran (2-1), in which it was used the same over the full distance of 90 minutes. His last international appearance, over the distance of 22 minutes, dated February 15, 2006 and was contested against the selection of South Korea (0-1). His only international goal scored " Chato " on 20 July 2003 5-0 victory over Jamaica.
